Goodbye Lovely Lily

They shorted you in peer reviews. Goodbye lovely Lily.

You played the chords they couldn’t use. I remember how I thought the music playing was from neighbors – in your bed and I would lay there, trying to recall or savor all the distant littles notes and all the melodies they wrote under the static of a fan and seven chargers dangling wires.

Goodbye lovely Lily. I am sorry I’m so tired and it will only get worse and I think that you were right about everything (except the thing of ketchup with your eggs).

I did write you a song I never showed you. It’s 2 minutes and 3 seconds long and I will never play it so long as I live.
