Anyway, they lose cities all the time – it’s not ridiculous to try to find them later, but by then everyone’s died of some new world plague or crop fail – anyway within your mind there’s many cities that you’ve misplaced or forgotten the route to, forgotten all the faces at the counters where you used to buy cigarettes and soda – anyway the ancient romans didn’t even believe pompeii happened (that within their lifetimes) so it’s not much of a stretch to try to imagine you forgetting the small city we’ve been building: cement crumbled, flowers wilting – oh it would truly by the worst thing in the world.
