Study on the Feelings of Inorganic Materials

I know how the puddle feels – drying into oily colors, emptier than ever while the water seeks another low point fathoms underground. I also know the sound of things evaporating off of skin – because all water has a whim there’s better things out there worth finding. I know how the lightning feels striking through an oak tree, circuiting limbs wildly – trying to ignite the heart it knows must be inside. I know the way that static builds, a frenzied impulse writhing ring of light that must find some release oh please oh please let me!
