Malevolent Blossoms

Easy epiphanies from panoramic magazines -this is how your eyes should see; this is what you think of me. I am a footnote in thousands of stories, you can check all the allusions, you can read the allegories as they’re written or subscript them. I am resigned to the glories of an early death from drinking and an unshakable sinking of my soul to the Atlantic. How romantic to be lonely when the Christmas lights are lit. How imposing to know habits that once picked up can’t be quit. I am ashamed of salty oceans and embarrassed for the flowers who like lemmings leapt to death by blooming in the frozen hours of December. You remember, right? The future once was ours.
