Morning Light is Beautiful

I would love to see them altogether – still as beautiful as ever, in all the outfits I liked most, raising their wine glasses to toast our being there together then – forever ago, remember when I told them each I couldn’t sleep I couldn’t eat I couldn’t think of anything but how they reach across the empty air above my spindly legs and wheezing lungs and tasted all like different kisses and fell asleep with different wishes for what time we’d wake up – there was so much to do each night but each morning I would fight with a hangover from the drinks and an urge to fill the sink with all the poison blood I have.
